Who remembers this special when it aired on November 18th 1988? i did when i was 6 as i loved Garfield, it was a neat special. But the 7th story was creepy as fuck as it's known as Lab Animal which is a dark story i should say and the were-dog transformation scared the hell out of me.

I think someone should do a youtube video with that segment set to Creepshow soundtracks's The Crate score

I've always loved garfield as a whole, but not all of the specials. For example, I never liked this one much, nor the babes & bullets one. (...And all his recent cgi outings have sucked ass through a straw, but that's an entirely different era.)

lol, the only thing i liked about the special was the experimented cat that turned into the dog. everything else in the special except the pharaoh garfield was just flat out boring

Say Ben, did you think the story where the cat turned into the dog was like something out of an EC comic or something out of a Creepshow story?

I have the recording from the original telecast. I have the babes and bullets one too but cannot remember where I put it.

I always thought 9 lives was a weird show as a kid. I couldn't wrap my childhood mind around the fact that Garfield had lived so many lives. : P

I think I have babes & bullets recorded on VHS somewhere. I know I have a couple of old garfield specials buried on one old tape or another.

Life 3 was weird and the lady's voice was annoying. Life 6 and 7 were the best. Life 9 was stupid.

I have this on DVD with babes and bullets and some other one...
Life 6 actually got me a bit teary eyed. life...4?!was just uh....Not Garfield at all... Life 3 was an interesting look at the garden of Eden. Life 7 uh.. Oliver and Company meets Twilight Zone?!!!! good special. I enjoyed it!! Gotta love the part where he dupes God that he only lost his 1st life. just to see Her has Cats eyes himself... Matter in fact, His eye did look cat like in Monty Python.
