For a teddie bear that is cute and cuddly but then at night he 'changes' into an evil little bugger with claws and all?? I was just wondering if it did actually exist or am I going mad..

I agree, it sounds like Gremlins, but it also sounds like an incredibly cool toy for today. Put light sensors in the eyes so it only transforms in the dark, give it some basic servo motors to extend claws and fangs, and have it chuckle evilly and whisper death threats. It would emotionally scar children for life, it would be great!

I think you may be referring to Were Bears. They were a plush toyline in the 80s that turned from cute teddy bears into fanged horrors.
