Since today is Friday the 13th, I thought it would be a good discussion point.
I enjoy the Friday the 13th franchise; however, many of them are forgettable.
My favorite one is Part 6 (VI) Jason Lives.
This is the one when Tommy goes to dig the body of Jason up in the cemetery so he can cremate his remains. However, upon seeing his dead body, Tommy goes berserk and stabs the body with a metal rod thus causing lightening to strike the body and reanimating it.
I find this to be the best of the series, Part 4 is second.

I know I'll get flamed for this, but Friday the 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan is my favorite. I'll watch it later tonight.
Yes, I liked Part 8, but I just did not like the ending when the toxic sludge covered Jason's adult body and washed it away revealing the deformed child that drowned at Crystal Lake.
That has baffled me. How does he reappear as an adult Jason later in part 9 at Crystal Lake and chasing a woman only to get blown up and his heart eaten by a coroner?
Weird...but what should I expect from a movie where a guy gets killed and comes back to life...again...and again...and again...with different directors.

I didn't like the teleportation thing either. Especially the scene where the teacher runs into the building and suddenly gets thrown out the window.
I agree. The part when Jason lifts his mask to scare the punks on the street was a good part, but it just didn't fit the MO of Jason Vorhees.

I liked part 4 the best. This is to Friday the 13th what Death Wish 3 is to its respective series.

Part 2 and Part 6 were my faves. Jason takes Manhattan pretty much ruined the series for me. Although by that point, I think they should have stopped making more movies.

Part 7 was my favorite and the first scenes of part 5.
That was the one with a guy who chopped a fat kid in back with an axe over and over again.

Yeah that was Vick who did that to Joey in part 5 but he did warn Joey to get away and when a crazy person tells you that you better move, if Joey wouldn't have said these words " Well fine Vick if that's how you want to be just forget, forget but I'm telling you you are making a really big mistake". After that its was Vick cropping Joey like there was no tomorrow.And all that over a candybar man I would have shared it with Vick and I don't evn eat chocolate.
I would say parts 1-4 are the best and 6 also. If I had to choose though I take part 6 I watched part 3 and 7 last night on AMC and boy let me tell you AMC was showing almost all the death scenes of 3. I was surprise beacuse most stations would edited those but not AMC it kinda of remind me of how USA was in the 80's.

i think part 2 scared me the most, i remember we watched one night at a sleepover when my friend and i were about 8 and i was absolutely terrified, i still loved it though
My favorite is part 2. The death scenes were so entertaining. I like all of the others though.
I have to say Part 2 Was my best friday the 13th movie.
I liked parts 2-4 the most. The first one is still good although It wasnt Jason that did the killing.

Yeah part two had one of the best death scenes ever when the dude he the wheelchair gets stabbed in the face by the Jason and rolls backwards down all those stairs and then the scene whites out instead of fading to back. And part 7 was okay but it didn't need that mind crap in it. When they started to go to that I know that the Friday the 13th series was in trouble.
jason x ( part 10 for those who have no idea about roman numerals ) was the most entertaining 1 to watch.
