When my sister and I flew to Rome in 2001, I dropped my sunglasses. We were landing, and I didn't want to leave the plane without the sunglasses. Unfortuneately, when an airplane is landing is not a good time to stand up from your seat to start looking for something. But I did anyway, even though both my sister and a stewardess asked me to sit down. I even ripped a cuhsion loose from its velcro fastening. Finally, the man sitting in front of us asked "Is this what you're looking for?", holding my sunglasses in his hand. So that ended pretty well after all.

But one thing sucks for me, when it comes to flying. My eardrums really really can't cope with the change of air pressure. I get such an earache every time I'm landing with an airplane. I actually think of avoiding airplanes in the future. I think I prefer trains and boats, even buses and cars.

I use to like to fly, but with the way the airlines are now I refuse to. The issues with people being stuck in a plane on a runway for 9 hours, the wait at the security checkpoints and the lack of customer service. They basicly have full control of you once you pass that gate.

I never had anything big or serious A couple of times when when the Airplanes where landing I guess my ears or something could not take it and so they started to hurt really bad so that sucked and a bunch of times there where crying kids or babies which REALLY SUCKS God I hate them

You'd all be pretty annoyed if the lack of security were to cause a plane to be used as another weapon right?

I will not get into a debate about this, but there is a fine line between security and supidity. It's everything from the planes being full to the max, people being mistreated (and arrested for standing up for themselves), rules with no exceptions and so on. I think the whole airport plans and policies need to be redone from the ground up.

Why does everyone complain about airport security? Ive been on planes lots of times and I never had to do anything but remove items from my pocket and remove my shoes....oh and walk through a metal detector, but all that stuff is easy and fast. I have no complaints with my airport, I always fly Delta :D My ears are also uneffected by plane rides.

I got sick on a plane once when I was around 8.
And then once, my grandad turned around and said to my grandma "Make sure you hide your knife" or something like that. The security people came over and were like "Sir, please don't joke about that."

I've flown ALOT since I married my husband who is in the navy and we have lived in places so far away from home. We have been pretty lucky, the worst that has happened is I waited until last minute to buy tickets and bought them on some random cheap ticket site that never sent me an email conformation. The itinerary on the site looked weird and made it seem like at one point we land somewhere but stay on the plane and take off in an hour(which is something that sometimes happens) after new passengers get on. Well we get to the airport and the guy is like"oh no, for some reason they have you landing in Dulles airport and then you have to find your own way to the Reagan airport half an hour away. Thank god my mom was there to give us money for a cab. If that guy had not told us we would not have known before we got on the first plane and would have been screwed.

I also have a three year old and have flown with him since he was six months and thank god he normally sleeps the whole time. I always am in fear though of him having one of those crying fits that nothing will stop it, normally due to air pressure messing with their eardrums and causing them to hurt like hell. I am very concious of the people around me and KNOW that no one wants to sit near a screaming baby so I do my best to make sure that doesn't happen. Unfortunatly living so far away from people, flying is our only option LOL otherwise we would freakin drive.
                      :)

I didn't have any bad experiences on planes when I was a kid. I hit my head once during a train trip. The worst time I had on a plane was a few years ago on the way back from the UK. The cooling system in the plane broke and it became very humid and me and alot of the other passengers got extremely dehydrated.

Most of the time I have decent experiences on plane rides. I don't mind flying Westjet. They don't have tvs but I actually like that, they let me use a walkman anyway and you have to bring your own food and they have all those 9/11 type rules like no utensils so I just get a sub or a burger or something like that.

None, really. Once I spilled a coke in my lap and had to wait for the seat belt sign to go off so I could clean myself up in the bathroom. :D
