I'm 20 y/o and I still remember all the good old Nick shows even reminents of it when I was 3. This was the Hottest channel back then until around 2000. From there on it just became so kiddy, boring, animated and Bland. You must be thinking that I should just grow up, but think about it. You remember all those great Nick Shows you watched and missed. Haven't you ever wished You can see it all over agian once more?

Nickelodeon itself isn't the same.
It sure pissed me off when I recently did a wikepedia search and found out Nickelodeon closed down in Orlando, Florida and Ripped out the Slime Gyser in the Front. So now even the Slime/Gack theme is gone. I wonder what will they do to the Time Capsule that was burried there for the kids of our generation to see it 50 years from now. I've always heard even at my college some of the students my age discussing those old memories.

I sure feel lucky that I grew up a 90's kid and was able to see the best of this station, and really with many other stations with thier shows as well.

I Remember---

1.You Can't Do That on Television.
2.Hey Dude
3.Inspector Gadget
4.REN & Stimpy
5.Flipper ( The Original )
6.My Borther and ME
7.Lassie ( The Original )
8.Clarissa Explains It All
9.Wienerville
10.Ahh, REAL MONSTERS
11.Rocko's Modern Life
12.Looney Tunes ( The Originals )
13.The Adventures of Pete & Pete
14.Legend of the Hidden Temple
15.Welcome Freshman
16.The Secret World of Alex Mack
17.Salute Your Shorts
18.Wild and Crazy Kidz
19.Are You Afraid of the Dark
20.Round House
21.Gutz ( With Mike O Mally )
22.What Would You Do
23.Family Double Dare ( With Mark Summers )
24.Doug
25.Rugrats
26.Nick Arcade
27.Underdog
28.Kenan & Kell
29.All THAT ( With the Original Cast )
30.The Angry Beavers
31.The Tomorrow People
32.Beetle Juice
33.Garfield & Friend
34.The Little Bits
35.Rocky & Bulllwinkle
36.Figure It Out

That looks insane for me to remember this. I know theres so much more Great daytime Shows from Nick but This is what I remember off the top of my head.

Any thoughts on whats going on know or any shows I may have missed?

Nick in the Afternoon with Stick Stickly, Animaniacs and tiny Toon Adventures were on Nickelodeon for some time, Space Cases, Animorphs, and the Mystery Files of Shelby Woo.

Does anyone know what is going to happen to the time capsule?

The time capsule was dug out of Universal Studios Florida and was re-buried in the Nickelodeon Hotel.

You remember quite a bit, pokeeto2. :) I'm impressing that you're 20 and remember "You Can't Do That on Television." I'm 23 and I feel like I'm one of the last generation of kids who was a huge fan of the show before Nickelodeon removed it from their lineup.

Another old school show you missed is Mr. Wizard's World, if you ever saw it. It aired in the mornings before school by the mid 90s. Nickelodeon played it from 1983 all the way to 1999!

I can do you one better: Does anyone recall the shows, "The Tomorrow People (original; not the remake)" and "The Third Eye?" Those were actually good shows Nickelodeon aired for awhile.

"You Can't Do That On Television" was sort of like Nickelodeon's version of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In, though Nick attempted 'replacing' it with "All That."

Not sure why they stopped airing the series, either the guy playing Roz had passed away or perhaps the producers got weary making it with new cast members.

Anyhoo, besides The Tomorrow People (which Peter Davison once claimed was ITV's answer to "Doctor Who") was cool in the fact you had these group of young people with incredible powers, and yet, no one really noticed. Ah, the wonders of obliviousness in the UK, eh?

The Third Eye was actually a better predecessor to Nick's "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" and "Goosebumps" because it really had a Twilight Zone feel to it without having to stoop to cheap scare and gore tactics.

I still remember one episode about a girl who discovers she can communicate to ghosts and was a daughter of a presumed psychic. Except rather than helping her daughter cope, the mother gets uppity because the girl has no Paranormal knowledge, and can't understand why her daughter ended up inheriting these powers and not her.

Yes, I kind of miss the old programming of Nickelodeon but hey, you have to admit at least they never kept re-running the same episode 57 times.

Hey, I would be bored as well if they re-ran it 57 times. But, what we can all stress is ( Nick lost it's touch with it's programming )

I've Been thinking though, maybe Nickelodeon knew it's shows were so good, that kids were so hooked to the TV's all day. I know I was. My entire day after school or during the summer was Nick & Stick Stickly in New York City.

They probably made up all this crappy junk now so kids wouldn't be so hooked.

I never forgot once I went into Nick Studios Florida once, and they actually toured us the set of into the Clarissa Explains it all, Figure It Out, and Gula Gula Island ( Though I wasn't a gula gula island fan but it was awsome to see the set. They showed us the slime Kitchen and we actually got to taste it. Though it was just green colored apple Sauce.

I remember when my summer days were filled with Nickelodeon programming. Nick ROCKED! From Nick Jr. in the mornings (David the Gnome, Allegra's Window, Gullah Gullah Island, BusyTown, Eureeka's Castle) to the Nicktoons in the afternoon (Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold!, Angry Beavers, Doug, Garfield and Friends (originally on CBS), Charlie Brown, Tiny Toon Adventures, that According to Ginger show, and lots more) to the great Snick Lineup (The World of Alex Mack, Are You Afraid of the Dark, Nick News, etc etc) to the game shows (Double Dare, What Would You Do, GUTS, Figure it Out, Wild and Crazy Kids) my childhood television schedule was practically set. When I got older, I would watch Nick at Nite programs such as All in the Family, Cheers, The Wonder Years, and more).

I did watch shows on Disney channel (mostly in the early mornings and Ducktales and Goof Troop) and PBS (Arthur, Sesame Street, Lamp Chop), and Cartoon Network (The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Looney Tunes, Yogi Bear, Sailor Moon), but Nickelodeon was THE network for kids, and the best one at that!

I miss all those shows also, and I have been trying to find videotapes of old programs and old episodes on YouTube. I have found a tape of Hey Arnold! episodes at Dollar General for $1.50, and I have found tapes of Gullah Gullah Island, Eureeka's Castle, and Allegra's Window episodes at Dollar General. I have also found episodes of Rugrats on videotape at various stores, and a videotape of BusyTown episodes. I have also found Charlie Brown and Garfield and Friends episodes and a DVD of Gumby episodes. On YouTube I found some episodes of David the Gnome. I watch them now and then.

I used to like the Fairly Odd Parents, but I never got into Spongebob or any of their anime shows. I miss old Nickelodeon!
You cannot leave the magic - Down at Fraggle Rock!

Anyone who sings like that should be dragged out into the street and shot - Garfield

I'm not messy. I'm organizationally challenged ! -Garfield

"Bouncing is what Tiggers do best!" - Tigger

I feel the exact same way. I cant tell you how much I wanna see exactly how the lineup went everyday I came home from school. Nickelodeon was the first network I remember seeing alot when I was a child. Shit, I remember seeing the Rugrats on tv before I moved to my new home. As soon as I came home from school, BAM Nickelodeon had something on I wanted to watch and never change the channel. Im glad theres people out there that feel the exact same as well. Its a simple request, New Nick, just bring back some of the old shows we used to watch.
This message will now self destruct...

No one remembers Nickelodeon before the 1990s? Pinwheel, You Can't Do That on Television, Third Eye, Danger Mouse, Today's Special etc. I remember that pinball logo like yesterday.

I guess I was showing my age there.

The only reason why you all think Nickelodeon sucks now is because you grew up. The shows on now (like the shows back then) are intended for kids, not for older people to be bashing. If you don't like what's on now, then don't watch it. As long as kids like this stuff, it's not going anywhere. Stop whining how much Nickelodeon sucks now and move on.
