I used to have boxes upon boxes of them starting in about '87 when I was 9. I remember the first card I had that was pretty valuable was the 1985 Topps Kirby Puckett rookie card- at the time worth $6.00, which is a lot compared to the standard 5 cent cards. I eventually had others that were more valuable, but this one was special because I found it in a regular unopened pack, as opposed to trading with friends or buying it from a card shop. I also once had what I thought was a 1984 Donruss Don Mattingly rookie card (which peaked at $90 in mint condition) before I found out that it was a really impressive fake (the store my brother got it from was shut down for counterfeiting cards).

So who else collected back in the day? any interesting or valuable cards in your poesession?

i collected cards for a long time, baseball first, then i mostly stuck to basketball cards after awhile. i lovedd ken griffey jr. when i was growing up, and have his upper deck rookie card. i also have a fleer barry bonds rookie card. as far as my basketball cards go, i would have to do an updated price check, but i know that i have a least a few that are worth over $100. i still love cards, and if i werent a poor college student right now, i would probly still be collecting. speaking of card stores as well, i alwasy had a card store right up the street from me that i would go to alllll the time. i practically lived there. they eventually closed awhile back due to lack of business

Early 90\'s I use to really collect. I have all 4 or 5 brands of Ken Griffey Jr.\'s Rookie...too bad he had all those injuries or they might be worth something. I also have Shaq\'s Rookie Top card...anyone know how much it\'s worth?

I stopped collecting after high school and really have no interest anymore. Especially after seeing all the adults collecting...kinda turned me off seeing these older men collect. Maybe if some of my cards I have actually become worth something, maybe then I\'ll start again

I collected Basketball cards. Haven\'t done so in years but I still have them all. I have a few Shaq rookie cards, a few 1992 Dream Team cards (Micheal Jordan/Magic Johnson being my favorites). I\'ve been think for about the past few weeks about trying to see how much some of those cards are worth. is there a website where we can check stuff like that?

Oh yeah I have a signed Bo Jackson card and a Walter Payton from sometime in the's. In 1994 I was spending the summer in California and my dad was remodeling a cousins house when I found an old pouch with a bunch of Baseball and football cards. I ask my cousin if it were his and he said I could have them without even checking what cards were in the pile. They were in pretty good condition (still are) too.
