I was talking to my roommate the other day about movies we watched as kids. She brought up how Hocus Pocus scared her. I was shocked when she told me. I was just like "Why?" and she did her "You're kidding, right?" look.
Now i was 7 when that movie came out and i wasn't scared at all, i didn't think it was going for horror just Halloween fun. But apparently some kids actually were scared. So, we talked about it some more. I guess when you watch Pet Semetary and Nightmare on Elm Street at a young age, a children's "horror" movie isn't gonna do anything. Now i worry that maybe some, not all, of us are way too desinsitized. Is it bad that i can watch really gory movies w/out flinching while my roommate covers her size and screams?? let me know

PM one of the mods, they'll move it for you.

You know, some people just are not sensitive to certain things, like some people are not afraid of heights or bugs. If you were sensitive in the past, then maybe, but like you said, you were never afraid of Hocus Pocus. People who are not so squeamish tend to become doctors and nurses, or even undertakers.
