Does anyone remember this store? It was an electronics store and the guy was completely hyper that use to introduce everything, lol. I remember his ads and commercials being really crazy, yet funny. I use to enjoy them. Then he calmed down a little bit towards the end. Im not sure if this store was widespread, but where I lived we had a few in our area. What about Rickels? I think that was a hardware store, though i'm not too sure. Oh, and Nobody Beats The Wiz was another good one. Does anyone remember these or any other oldskool stores?

i went to a camp and supposedly there was a midget hermit that haunted the woods named crazy eddie, and he also supposledly lived in this little cabin (we saw the cabin it looked like no one had lived there for centuries), then we heard a loud crack and ran like hell

I don't remember that store but I was told about it by my mother. We bought our old TV from there. Wasn't he caught for fraud or something in Israel? We also had a deck of cards from Crazy Eddie's and it said on the back of it "Crazy Eddie Can't Be Beat" I also remember The Wiz, Caldor, uh what else...?

Oh, hells, yes. I never actually went to Crazy Eddie's, but the ads were unforgettable. "His prices are . . . INSAAAAAANE!"

Apparently, the chain shut down after it was discovered "Crazy Eddie" was a crook, skimming money from his own stores and placing it in foreign bank accounts. Not too long ago, they actually had a news special where Eddie and his nephew, an accountant who helped with his scheme and who now works busting similar schemes, were in the same room at the same time for the first time since Eddie was busted (the nephew was granted immunity for his testimony against Eddie). There was absolutely no love in the air at this reunion. I was half expecting the nephew to hurl a chair at Eddie.

Yeah it was kinda like the Wal-Mart of yesterday without the big enterprise capitalist feel. I remember they had a free carousel in there too.

This should be a thread on all the now defunct or lost stores! LOL I remember Crazy Eddie's commercials but I never in my life been to or seen any of the stores. I don't know where they were at in my area. Some other stores in the NJ area that disappeared or got taken over were ...

                      Bradlees... turned into Target
Rickels & Channel Lumber ...vanished and got replaced by Home Depots or Lowes
                      Caldors ... turned into K-Mart
Grand Union ...moved up north..so I heard & got replaced by some other high priced grocery store LOL
TOPS electronics ..turned into PC Richards, I think
Nobody beats the Wiz ... PC Richards also
Sizzlers steakhouses ...don't know what happened to these?

They still have Sizzler's around but to a lesser extent. Also Friendly's and Roy Rogers used to be around a lot but now they're hardly found.

I use to love Bradlees, they had such kool stuff! I remember my dad talking about going to Channel Lumber back in the day but i've never been there. As for Sizzlers stakhouses, I think theres still some around but they're far I think. I definitely miss Caldor and Bradlees, though. :(

I've heard tell that there's a Roy Rogers hiding somewhere in Penn Station, but I've yet to find it.

I just took an accounting class in college, and my professor gave us extra credit to write a paper on this, no citations needed. So I read all about it in Wikipedia.

                                  Pretty interesting stuff.

When I was in New York radio I palyed their commercials all the time. Dr. Jerry Carrol was the name of the actor who did them commercials. I even have some MP3's of the commercials
