There's this Smurfs episode that I remember just from the ending. Something like this happened: Gargamel put a spell on maybe the entire Smurf village. Papa Smurf made something like a TV through which Gargamel saw what he thought was an interesting cooking show, but it turned out to be the recipe for an antidote to his spell, and by following the instructions he unwittingly undid it. Anyone remember what episode this was?

This sounds really familiar. I think they had "TVs" or something because of some type of special glass they found or either a jewel. The main problem, though, is that I'm not entirely sure if I'm thinking of another cartoon that had something like this, or the Smurfs. I could be completely off here.
