We had one that closed down probably like 12 years ago or something. It was a tiny restraunt where you looked at the menu, ordered your food, pushed your tray down the line, grabbed your cups to fill your drinks and put your number on your tray and set it on your table. They'd bring out your food when it was done. For some reason it was my favorite restraunt back in the day, but when I think back, it was really, really, realy mediocre food. Probably a step down from Dennys.

Ours was next to a Walmart. It DEFINATLY went down hill somewhere in the mid 90s. The quality of service went down, the taste of the food went down, and we stopped eating there after we saw an employee sneeze all over the salad bar and pick up food they dropped on the floor and still try and serve it lol. I think they this particular one was condemmed back in the late late 90s and is now a bank. I think we might still have a Chuck Wagon that's in operation out there somewhere.

Wow! That takes me back. We had a Bonanza where I live in Idaho and it was there for quite a while. It wasn't my favorite place in the world but the food was okay. I remember chowing on chicken strips and baked potatoes and they always had self-serve soft ice cream available. Their salad bar was probably one the highlights of the restaurant. It was fairly extensive. I hardly ever ate from the bar though; not much of a salad eater. Our Bonanza kept pretty busy. However, it was replaced by a much better restaurant called "Winger's." Anyone heard of that one? You get free popcorn as an appetizer, fantastic fish & chips, tasty deserts, and you are surrounded by televisions so you can watch several sports channels at once.

If I did then I was too young to remember. I have been to a Ponderosa several times though. Although that was more of a buffet but still similar to what you describe. You could get either steak or just the buffet.

We used to have a Bonanza here years ago. I still remember it, even though, the last time I was there, was sometime in the late 80s. We haven't had one in many years, though. Did the franchise just go out of business, or something?

I loved Bonanza. Namely the all-you-could eat soft serve Ice cream.

But you know you're real old when you remember Quincy's.

There was a Bonanza in Magnolia, NJ. My aunt worked there and I ate there a few times, but the details are very sketchy.
