          Meh.

          10. Agreed. Give us someone with a minor flaw or two. A girl who's a bit chubby and wears glasses (no, not my sister). A guy with stubble and unkempt, overlong hair (no, not me).

          9. Agreed. I don't watch any shows that use this kind of storyline, but I agree. In the words of an old country song, we don't need to know "who's cheatin' who and who's bein' true / and who don't even care anymore".

          8. Agreed. Cavemen was just a stupid idea. A game show where you do nothing but pick briefcases is also stupid (although I have seen worse; remember Set for Life a couple years back?)

          7. Agreed. I can't recall the last time that we actually had memorable advertising characters that were actually praised. Heck, the last few times we had advertising characters at all they were almost universally dissed. Remember the Budweiser frogs? Taco Bell chihuahua? Can't hold a candle to the California Raisins.

          6. Sort of agreed. Yes, there're over 9000 doctor dramas, but I still find them engaging.

          5. Agreed. I don't recall Perfect Strangers, and Seinfeld never grabbed me, but I do like Two and a Half Men because it's so ballsy. No comment on the rest.

          4. Meh. I like Everybody Loves Raymond too.

          3. Agreed. We rerun way too much. Nickelodeon is the SpongeBob SquarePants network now, and Cartoon Network seems to be becoming the Chowder network.

          2. Neutral. Never heard of any of these shows.

          1. AGREED!

Gotta tell ya,I have to heartily agree with that list. My God,the people you see on TV these days are woefuly unrealistic. Take House, for example, all the women you see in that show are freaking gorgeous. And according to current TV settings,EVERYBODY has a on cue catchphrase ready to use.

But worst stinker of TV scripting these days is the whole "lesson learned" leit motif. It's like The System/The Man/Big Brother is trying to subtly tell you: "Be at peace, accept all the crap`we throw at you and Eat Soylent Green".

Just for a change I'd like to see a regular guy who DOESN'T do the "right" thing, gets away with the money and screws everybody.

TV today relies too much on toilette humor, sexual and pop culture references, and political correctness TV twenty years ago was much better.

If you make a list and it doesn't just have kids shows, then it is a good list.

You can say "its not aimed towards you" but what about the shit that is?

Im 18 I am pretty sure that most of that crap on MTV,VH1,TBS and so on is aimed at me but misses.

My problem with today's TV that it is so cliched and they play the same shows all day long. DVDs all the way.

Agreed. I'm so sick of marathons! They might as well just come out and say they don't have any original programming because that's what I get out of it. My DVD collection gets bigger all the time...

Oh and reality TV is the most pathetic excuse for programming that I've ever seen. I'm glad my friends aren't into it.
Recipe for nostalgia: Mix 80's and 90's culture. Stir in some good memories. Add a dash of reflection. Mixture should now taste bittersweet. Shake well and enjoy!

Marathons are just an excuse just to fill up empty TV hours. I don't want to watch the same show 8 times in 3 hours.

                          Reality TV-eh-never liked it.

Everybody Loves Raymond wasn't bad. Not the best show in the world, but not all that bad. It has its moments, even though I could either take or leave this show...and I did honestly "leave" it.

That aside, for the whole comedy thing, one can't really say much about it. Humor is way too subjective. What one finds funny, another might not. I know some people who like Robot Chicken and finds that funny, even though I really don't. I find shows like King of the Hill and Futurama, funny, though, and better. I find Scrubs hilarious (even though I've only seen maybe two or three eps) and I don't mind the US version of the Office (I can't get into the UK version at all), yet, my father doesn't find it entertaining or comedic at all and likes My Name is Earl. This is pretty much the main thing on the list that I can't agree with. My mother has never found the Simpsons funny, but, she liked King of the Hill.

As for reality television, I don't feel it's "bad", I just feel that there's just too much reality television now. One show I enjoy watching is the UK reality show, You Are What You Eat, although, granted, we're getting reruns of the program since it ended in 2007 over there. It's nice and informative. I also like watching the reality show dealing with that Nanny lady. Other shows I like to watch are those on the Travel Channel and the Discovery Health Channel, like Mystery Diagnosis and Bizarre Foods and Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations.

It seems that most shows of that nature I don't mind watching. Stuff like Survivor isn't bad either (even though I've only seen the China one) since it's a "competition" like show.

It's the stupid reality shows like I Love New York and...um...that show with Lindsay Lohan's folks and um...Paris Hilton's trying to find a new friend and the Bachelor and Bachelorette or that Flavor Flav show.

Anywho, the main problem with television is the lack of variety now-a-days.

One thing that needs to end fast is every character being slightly sarcastic.

Every commercial and character that gets attention is semi cynical but not offensive, i.e. that douche bag Jim on the horrible american office.

Instead of marathons of shitty family guy, I'd rather sit through Stephen King's 'The Stand' for 8 hours. (It's pretty good for a 17 year old made for tv movie)

Almost all shows are too cliched, and lame ass attempts at comedy. BAD WRITING...

There are a few glimmers of hope, Misadventures of Flapjack, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Futurama still kicking, Chocolate News (at least it's different), Life With Derek, Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, Californication, Burn Notice, Leno, and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

HOW COULD YOU NOT LIKE SEINFELD? Whoever said that.

Guilty. I just didn't get the whole "nothingness" of it all. The show has some bright spots, but not enough to engage me.

I found Seinfeld a funny show too. I thought it was nicely written.

I thought Seinfeld was well written too, and I liked the nothingness concept, but I just didn't get into it. I watch an episode once in awhile, but mostly I stick to other comedies.

I also like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. That's a good show and it hasn't been overpopularized. At least not yet.
