OMG,how could I have forgotten this? Though maybe that was probably for a good reason. I think I only saw one or two episodes of this serial when I was very little, but I defnitively remember that sappy intro song. Dear Lord, even for a 1960s cartoon, the sheer...uh, unmanliness of it can only be classified as epic. How could anyone picture Little John as this?

And most bafling of all, this was largely directed by Ralph Bakshi. Hard to believe that the same man behind Wizards and American Pop is behind this affront to Creation.

Why do the rockets on Little john's belt and Robin Hood's shirt look like fallic symbols? ;)

He also did the last season or two of Spider-Man too! Both shows were done by him in the late 60's.

Yup they reused some animation between the two. I remember giant robot beetles as one example.

My it beat nothing comment was too true, when you had 2 channels and the other one had grownups talking (some news show I guess) you watched Rocket Robin Hood and you liked it dammit. (so glad when we got cable) Now get off my lawn you damm kids! :D

This is why fans of both shows need to realize they practically love both of 'em, whether they seem both or not!

Kinda like to see someone adapt this into a stage play though...

And be proud of such a fine Canadian program as that.

Apparently a couple years ago there was a notice that the Canadian division of Warner Home Video was going to release the show in two volumes a couple years ago...

But apparently it was canceled some months later.

I guess for now we'll have to put up with the Black Marketâ„¢ as usual...

There's been a few episodes that pop up on eBay from time to time in 16mm format as well.

I was 4 or 5 when I watched reruns of this show in the mornings. I found it quite fun (was a Robin Hood fan as a kid, after having been introduced to the Disney's fox Robin). One thing I thought quite stupid though was that character clip about Friar Tuck, when he has this pile of food and he takes only one bite out of every piece, throws the rest of it behind himself, and then demonstrates the resilience of his belly. I thought, how can he be so strong if he wastes so much of his food!
