I remember it was a blatant ET ripoff, with obvious Pepsi endorsements. And it was ungodly horrible.

Hated it. It was basically ET with pepsi commercials.
I find it funny that the product placement disgusts people more than Spielberg's Reese's pieces placement in E.T. He almost invented the 2 hour commercial.
i saw it in the theaters. i think it was a mcdonalds themed movie. it was god awful.

Well, the product placement was more subtle in E.T., so that's why it doesn't get much hate.

Included a 15 min McDonald's commercial...which is about my best memory of the whole movie! LOL
Oh man I had this taped off the TV from 1992, it was a great film. I loved the bit in Mc Donalds.

I saw this movie in a theater when i was 6 and my god, it was a horrible rip-off of ET and also an extended commercial for Mcdonalds, Coca-Cola, Skittles and Sears.
I never liked ET or his ripoff. I'd rather watch aliens blow stuff up like the ET/War of the Worlds ripoff: The Returner.

Another Razzie movie. I never watched this whole movie, but it is a total ripoff of E.T. There are way too many similarities.
After the movie E.T. came out the jingle "E.T. and me" was used in several action figure commercials. I'm sure that's where they got the idea for the movie name. Here are some other similarities someone pointed out on a blog.
Alien lost on earth
- Alien given acronym name (Mac, in a pure coincidence I'm sure)
- Protagonist is a boy with an older brother and single mom
- The older brother is named Michael
- They live in the suburbs
- Alien likes junk food and candy (In this case Coke & Skittles)
- Alien has healing powers
- Alien dresses in costume disguise
- Chase through the neighborhood, running from the Feds
- Kids escape Feds in a Van
- A resurrection occurs

I might still have the VHS at my aunt's house where I used to live, a big ET rip off...but I have to admit Mac was very very adorable and I loved the Mcdonald's scene...nostalgic fever returns!!!!

Who else thinks this movie is one big commercial?
I only saw the first 10 minutes could never really get into it
i loved MAC AND ME lol i still watch it today lol i had to download it.
