For all of the comic book lovers out there, most of us get a kick when we hear that our favorite characters that we've been reading about finally make it to the big screen. We always hope that they are true to the heroes and villians that we all love. But as we know from past results, these movies are far from inspiring and are always more of a let down to fans. For instance the X-Men movies(in my opinon really sucked)did no justice to the characters ive been reading about since i was a kid. What the Hell did they do to Wolverine(Hugh Jackman, poor choice)Halle Berry as Storm yeah right(she probably never even knew anything about comic books before these crappy movies. Why would the X-Men wear solid black costumes? What were the real costumes not hollywood enough?
Anyway the sad thing is that the majority of people know nothing about these characters that have been around for over 30 years, only until the movie comes out are they introduced to them.
Lets see,Daredevil sucked,Elektra sucked, the X-Men movies, sucked, and i'm sure with all of the damn hype for the Fantastic Four movie will be guranteed to suck big time! The Spider-man movies were also a let down, and to hear they are making a third movie(I wonder what villian they will ruin and make look ridiculus this time around?)This movie will also blow ass! I always think its funny when they talk to the actors and actresses they always ask the question So did you read the comics as a kid? and of course they reply by saying yeah i was always a fan!
Jessica Alba who appeared in Sin City and now in Fantastic Four seems to me a poor choice for Sue Richards, invisble woman.I mean yeah shes hot,but i just don't see her as Sue Richards. When will Hollywood realize that comic book movies just aren't a good idea? In my opinon if you're going to make a film for all those fans who have been reading these books since childhood, either do it right or don't do it at all.All of the movies that i've mentioned seem to me to be rushed just to be the next summer blockbuster film. Even video games never transfer to fim very well(Super Mario Bros.,Resident Evil,) When will they learn people?!!!
Other movies that officialy sucked(The Hulk, all of the Batman movies after Batman Returns, when Tim Burton stopped directing them) If anyone else out there can add to this page feel free to do so,because i'm sure i'm forgetting something!
dont get me started.
ok, get me started.
the entire movie genre has gone awol.
comic movies are only the latest bunch of garbage that hollywood has spewed. this infact reminds me of when they did all the disater movies form the 70s, prior to starwars and superman.
do people really long for this stuff? of course not. they think theyre world sucks, so they watch these movies.
box office ratings dont mean squat to me.
superman 1-4 got great to aweful, but its better than..
Batman! only batman, and returns were worthy, and the one that just came out was good, not great good.
daredevil elektra hulk, FF and the other marvel movies were disappointing.
Stan lee needs to go retire and leave us alone! in fact, for his annoying us he needs to PAY US! the spiderman 70s show was noo treat neither.
all in all, TV and MOVIE wise, DC is far superior.
and yes i agree, casting choices have been poor.
if they were to go with unknowns*as singer is doing* then i could feel safe in watching them.
the 1st FF movie was better than the recycled junk they just put out.
am i a hater of comic movies? no. the blade trilogy was great. batman/batman returns was great superman 1&2 were great!! xmen 1&2 were great...but other than that a sparese few were worthy.
however,i would have to disagree with the video games turned into movies. most are actually are done well. unlike the comic book movies , most people dont have expectations, so thats a plus. (watch Bloodrayne) it provides a decent story.
resident evil 1&2 were fine. supermario was funny, it was not to be serious in any manner. the only exception was DOOM, that stunk.
