I have a question regarding movie reviews. is it okay to even do movie reviews as articles here on RetroJunk? If so, can you do movies that have been released just recently if they at least give you moments of nostalgia?

Movie reviews: yes. Here are some examples:

One thing I will say as a reader: don't just give a summary of the movie. Write substantially in critique mode, give some background info, make it personal, talk about why the movie is unique, something(s) like that.

New movie reviews: risky. It's certainly allowed, as in you won't be banned for it or anything like that. But if you don't make a strong case as to why you're writing it here, you might get a lot of downvotes and negative comments. I would suggest using such a subject as a backdrop to your nostalgia and not the other way around. For instance, you could start talking about a movie as the introduction and use a few reference points to launch aspects of your personal story. If you review a new movie for three paragraphs and throw in a few sentences at the end about your youth, it probably wouldn't do very well.

I figured this would be a good place to put this question. What kind of retro movie reviews would you guys like to see. Certain decade, theme, or series. Looking for ideas for my next article to do for Retro Junk.

Look up Nails105 on here. He made a whole career of movie reviews. I don't particularly care for articles reviewing movies, especially if I saw them. I don't need someone else telling me a crappy movie is a crappy movie!

On the other hand, I like articles that revolve around a movie while not necessarily about the movie itself. Perfect example here:

Sadly the redesign messed up the formatting but that's a great article.

Thanks for linking that. I wanted to include it in my first reply above but I couldn't find it at the time. It's probably my very favorite article here. Shame about the formatting.

Wow, that was an amazing piece of writing. You really feel how he felt about just seeing that movie. I seen Heavy Metal for the first time at a friends house who recorded it off of cable. Funny, how I haven't thought about that in a long time.
