I've come to join you guys to look for an answer...

see i've been working on a dissertation in which I study the relations of domination in Scrubs, Season 1.
Not a problem.

However, I just into a presentation of of the context in which Scrubs appeared -- of what a TV show is, why TV shows seduce the audience, why there are so many of them today ...

But when did TV shows appear, and when did they really boom?
I would say in the 80s, but im not too sure of that, and I would hate to write a load of BS in my paper, because my teachers know their thing...

do you guys have any idea?
