Until this past summer, the original opening and closing of the 1988 animated feature film by Walt Disney Studios, Oliver & Company was presumed lost since Disney failed to restore the movie from its original source. But I had purchased the France VHS to test the SECAM compatibility in my multi format VHS player. Surprisingly, the extremely rare footage of the 1985 Walt Disney Pictures logo that once aired in US theaters appears in that VHS at the opening and closing of the movie. I scanned, digitized and uploaded the footage in HD to show the world the actual footage. The variant of the logo used from the 1988 release is similar in tint and hue to Cinderella's 1988 home media release and 1989's Honey I Shrunk the Kids film. Interestingly, the closing of the movie here ends sooner than the U theatrical releae as it was a foreign release but regardless this is evidence that the original 1985 version of the Disney logo still does exist, it's just Disney does not care about putting original theatrical prints of movies in home media and Disney+. I also upload it on YouTube as all of the videos on YouTube relating to this logo are fake or fanmade because no one has the real footage especially Austin Alexander, his most famous fake video was his fanmade video of this logo with 100K views where it was actually from the Cinderella 1988 VHS. Few people uploaded the FRANCE VHS on youtube but the original logo was cut out or was recorded via a phone. Now that i rediscovered the footage, everyone will finally know the truth.
