I don't know, these days there's such a large selection and variety of beers I don't really see the point anymore. Other than just the fun of brewing which it sounds like you and a lot of other people around the world are into, it's just not my kind of thing. I was in this place called Goody Goody Liquors the other day, it's a liquor store the size of a supermarket. The entire back wall of the store, basically the length of the back of an Albertsons or something, was a non stop line of cold beer. They had all of your regulars, but they had micro brews, beers from all over Europe, Japan, just about anywhere you could think of except for Muslim countries. And since it's a liquor store they can sell the highest alcohol content beers.
My point is that there is so much variety now, it's not like the days where you couldn't get much variety so people resorted to brewing their own. I'll just stick to my Shiner Bock and Sam Adams, but I like to go in and pick up something I've never tried just for some variety.
