I got a MrBeer kit last Christmas, and since then, I've really been into brewing my own beer. Right now, I'm working on a stout, MMmm. Does anyone else like brew their own beer?

I know a guy who has been doing that for years.
His beer is pretty awesome. Pretty high alcohol %, and doesn't taste like piss.
He wanted me to design his beer logo for him, but I got too busy playing with my old GI Joe toys and Madballs.

I don't know, these days there's such a large selection and variety of beers I don't really see the point anymore. Other than just the fun of brewing which it sounds like you and a lot of other people around the world are into, it's just not my kind of thing. I was in this place called Goody Goody Liquors the other day, it's a liquor store the size of a supermarket. The entire back wall of the store, basically the length of the back of an Albertsons or something, was a non stop line of cold beer. They had all of your regulars, but they had micro brews, beers from all over Europe, Japan, just about anywhere you could think of except for Muslim countries. And since it's a liquor store they can sell the highest alcohol content beers.

My point is that there is so much variety now, it's not like the days where you couldn't get much variety so people resorted to brewing their own. I'll just stick to my Shiner Bock and Sam Adams, but I like to go in and pick up something I've never tried just for some variety.

Speaking of people brewing their own beer, I think Sega needs to brew a Sonic The Hedgehog beer. Their company is already in the toilet, so why not cater to the 90's Genesis crowd that turned 21 two years ago and brew a blue pale ale or lager worthy of the Dude With A 'Tude? This sounds incredibly stupid but I don't think its the most horrible idea I ever had.

Unless the most horrible idea you ever had was hand grenades for children, then yes it is. Look at all of the anger over Camel Cigarettes having a cartoon mascott, which was eventually forced to be retired. Can you imagine a beer with a cartoon video game character on it?

I think GI Joe would make a better beer(Real American Beer).

Ah, would you be referring to Brendan Smalls? He totally needs to make a Roadblock Beer all covered in chicken legs, watermelon rinds, ribs and of course octopi.

Some of my buddies were doing that when it became popular in about the late '90s. It didn't take long before we just got tired of it. Too much work, sanitizing the bottles and all. A few of my friends who were more motivated did turn out some good stuff, though.
