So I think this is totally fake but it is fun to watch. It actually made me start playing Mario64 again. So let me know what you guys think.

That speed is possible, but whoever played that has good editing skills or great acuracy. I can go that fast using Z and A....but fall off an edge or hit a baddie whenever I do. There is something etchy about the video, some parts looked edited.
The only fun game to beat in a record time is Super Metroid, the game is long and fun, and was never intended to be a fast paced game, but its so fun to speed through.
But beating Mario 64 in a record time like that, ha, its pointless and can't be anyfun ( except for the satisfaction you can beat a Mario game in a record time and your friends can't, if you have friends. :D )

man I dont know guys, is there a plug-in you can download. it worked ok for me. I think it's quicktime, yeah its quicktime. I dont know. try going to muchosucko.com and go into the videos and use the search tool for "mario". This clip should be at the top of the list, maybe it will work for you then....

how is it fake? have you ever played Mario 64? it was buggy as hell. i have no doubt in my mind this is for real, maybe he paused his recorder once and a while to rest his hands or take a piss break but everything he does it possible. even the backwards long jump in the endless stairs. its for real...

The guy is using an emulator, he pauses the game every 30 seconds or so to see where to go next. Also he is using a "bot" program. This is a program that controls mario in a set pattern for a level. This program isn't used for every level, but it is used. Yeah I remember the backwards stairs jump too. I know that is real but no one is this perfect playing this game.
There was a guy who beat SMB 3 in like 11 min or so who admitted it was fake and said that he used a "bot" program and an invincibility code on his emulator to accomplish this.
Most time attacks you see on the internet are fake this way but in my opinion they are still fun as hell to watch. any body got any others for viewing?

I remember being able to finish Super Mario world in like 20 minutes. Killing the first boss and getting a short cut to starworld and ending up at Bowser's castle.

For real man I did it. What was your highest % anyway?? Mine was 96 %. I don't think you have accomplished much in the game.

If you are calling the guy who said he could beat super mario world(SNES) in 20 min a liar then you are an idiot. Using the star world short cut could let you beat the game easliy in 20 min.
try to fix your picture too I want to see what the hell you are talking about

no one beleives me but I beat every level in the game. Even the Special world stages which are next to impossible. Then in pumpkin world I beat every level again. Hardest stage by far in the game is the level in special world where you have to blow up like a ballon and float between troopa football punters. friggin hard!!!! I think my % was something like 106 hahahahaha, no really I dont know but I beat everything

First of all don't double or triple post, it's really annoying. And I'm not talking to just you Dr. Science. *glares at Nick Fishers 3 posts about the same thing that doesn't make much sense* :? Use the Edit button.
And yes you can skip most of the koopalings and go straight to Bowser via Star Road. Beating the whole thing is fun. The only places I found out that I missed when I had 98% were in the Forest of illusion, there you can open multiple ways to the same spot along the same road and some are easy to miss. The hardest level was probably Tubular in the Special zone. If you don't have yoshi and the cape in the end you're pretty much screwed. Yoshi saved my butt so many times in that game, though sometimes I had to sacrifice him to win, that's why he's one of my favorite characters. ^^
Oh and bringing the topic back, who here has beaten the N64 version and got all 120 stars? *raises hand* I never care about the time limit though.

sorry dude I didn't think anybody cared how many posts I put up in a chat topic. I didn't know that was annoying to anyone.

I don't mean to come down on anyone, I'm just trying to keep the forum protocol in place. It's not how many posts you make it's if you post 2 or 3 or more times after yourself it's just wasting space. And your's wasn't even that bad anyway. I'm just pointing out that we'd rather not see wasted posts.
