Has anyone else ever really stopped to look at the poses Disney puts Tinkerbell in?

Like this one off of a fabric sample:

Or this wall sticker:

The classic glamour pose shot:

Or here's one off the Disney.com's website itself!

Is there something about being three inches tall that lets Disney get away with putting her in poses that you would expect to see in an issue of playboy, and then marketting it towards 7 year olds?

I don't know, but I have heard that they used Marilyn Monroe's measurements...YES, that Marilyn Monroe! I guess they figure kids won't really notice it as much as adults? Just a guess.

Yes they did. They have specifically said that Tinkerbell was modeled off of Marilyn Monroe, the era's greatest sex symbol.

That just bears repeating. The little fairy that we give to our little girls is a direct characature of the biggest sex symbol of modern times. And yet no one seems to notice.

children dont think about that sort of thing...i dont think a 5 year old has an opinion of what is sexy and what isn't.
show a young kid a picture of a prostitute and they don't see her as a prostitute, they don't even know what a prostitute is.
5 year olds think that hookers are pretty because all they see is color, makeup, and glitter, they do not see them as being something sexual....kids just dont think that way.

get your mind out of the gutter edy!!

Aren't the Bratz dolls more for the 7-13 age frame?

Well, I'd certainly give her a good drilling, a dirty sanchez and a pearl necklace.

                    Have it, you fairy bitch.

Actually, I'd go as far to say she looks a bit sluttish.

                      Yum.

I'll say. Remember Kitty From The Great Mouse Detective? Whoa. Kids everywhere would've been rocketed straight through puberty watching that scene.

I HATE SLUTS! I'd rather see a clean and wholesome version of Tinkerbell. Disney should not promote girls being loose and easy. Sluts are the worst.

Yes, I admit Tinkerbell's poses quite provocative. :D

Disney gets away with so much.

I'd let her tinker with my bells. Well, the one who works at Disneyland, that is.

That's what was great about old school Disney, it was always pushing the envelope in films like Peter Pan, Sleepy Hollow, various scenes in Fantasia and others that I can't think of off the top of my head.
