They look a lot better without it. Maybe it's just me though. Just about every girl wears makeup. To me, it makes them look kind of fake. It covers their real beauty. A lot of people look at all kinds of celebrities and say that they're hot, but it's probably not what they really look like at all. It's stupid to me, it's expensive, a waste of time, makes them look worse usually. And even if they do look good with it, it's not what they really look like. It's pretty much like putting a mask over their real face. Isn't it also kind of bad and unhealthy for the skin?

I agree with you 100% my g/f doesn't wear make up and I prefer that way. I went out with a girl a while back and you could actually see the makeup line aropund her neck where she applied it. kissing her on the cheek was like squirting baby powder in my mouth and kissing lips was like putting on lipstick myself. I couldn't stand it. the natural look is way hotter. IMO

I personally hate wearing make-up and probably never will. I was chosen to get made-over on time with makeup, and I hated it. Who likes all that gunk all over their faces?

That aside, the only way I would wear make-up, is if it's to cover up a dark spot, or something like that. That's the only logical reason I could see for a person to wear it. Lipstick and junk like that, ew.

Now, the reasons people wear lipstick, is to make their lips look fuller. Eye shadow/eye-lashes, to make their eyes look bigger. Um...I don't know about the other stuff and can't even make assumptions with that.

I have a love/hate relationship with make-up. I've spent the better part of my life wearing it. In high school it was to hide blemishes, now it's to have a barrier between my skin & the air because I have very fair skin that's prone to redness and blotchiness in the winter time. The make-up helps. I wear it a lot less in the summer because of the heat.

I think women should wear make-up if they want to. If they don't want to, then they shouldn't feel that they have to.

I disagree with all of you. Even so some women look great without it, most just look plain and unnoticable without it. The secret to good make up is for it to enhance the beauty, you shouldn't be able to tell she's wearing makeup. If you can tell she's wearing makeup, she's wearing too much.

As long as they don't wear too much of it, it's okay by me!

I don't really wear makeup. I tend to rub my face a lot so there is no use wearing it. I did have to use an eyebrow pencil when I thought I would look better with drawn eyebrows.

This thread started to make me think about that Barbie Cosmetics commercial!

I concur on the whole issue of girls wearing makeup. Yes, it does make them look rather fake, especially if they wear too much of it and look like hookers. Gentlemen generally prefer women with little to no makeup on their faces.

As a girl myself, I agree with you. I've always thought natural beauty was the best. I don't wear makeup most of the time because I've been told I look good without it but, sometimes I like to fix myself up if I'm going out. :)

Ah, thank you! That's exactly it. Make-up was created to enhance beauty. So, if she's wearing it correctly you should only notice her great features (which might otherwise go unnoticed without it.)

Make-up isn't good for you, but it isn't always bad either. It offers protection from the elements. I have the same problem as Josette and my make-up helps protect my skin from dirt and sun damage. I use make-up that's better for your skin than most.

I completley agree. I wear makeup, but not to "mask" myself. Its used to enhance things, not change them. I agree that it looks tacky if its overdone, but when its not, its perfectly ok. Its really just a tool, I mean many mornings you wake up and you need to do something to look more awake . It can also be used to enchance someone's mood, so in a respect it can be rather artistic.

I personally don't wear makeup... It just makes my skin break out and it feels gross after a while. I just can't stand going to school and having that gunk/powder on my face all day long. Though, I like lipgloss... Heh. :D

I'm all about eyeshadow and chapstick. I hate everything else, especially cover up. I Feel like it suffocates my skin.

I think a lot depends on the occasion too. Like puttin on a lot of make up just to go to walmart or something is unnecessary, but if your going to a wedding or prom that's a different story.
