Honestly, most anime makes me wanna puke. Not a big fan, if you hadn't already guessed.
All these saturday morning anime shows that are cranked out by the dozens, just aren't very good. And then you've got the worn out & terrible idea the first time plot "nerdy boy meets 20 girls with pink/blue/green hair, who all fall in love with him for no reason. Then they get in wacky adventures together. Terrific....
The Ghibli films don't go that route at all. That's one of the reasons I've recently become a fan of their movies. The stories are interesting, you can actually give a damn about the characters, and there's nothing perverted or geeky going on.
I haven't seen all of them, but the ones I have seen were extremely well done. I've watched Laputa, valley of the Winds, Lupin: Castle of Cagliostro, & Princess Mononoke. My fav, probably being Laputa. Anyone seen the one called "The Cat Returns"? I wanted to check that one out next.
Who else has some favorites from this studio?
