I heard that they have vending machines for pretty much everything over there, especially drinks.

Nippon wa omoshiroi desu ne... lol

I've always wanted to play pachinko. They look like fun, and seems that people of all ages go to Pachinko Parlors to play.

I kind of doubt that. You can't use fresh ingredients (produce and such) to actually cook or prepare a meal by getting it from a vending machine.

Can we stop at this rest area? I'm out of Rhinocerous beetles and my rice needs another cleaning.

The Japanese, what would life be like without them?

From my experience in Japan, the Japanese LOVE their vending machines. Anything automatic and convenient is like catnip to these people (don't get offended Japanese folk, for I am one myself... at least half of one)

I went before I was 21, so when I saw the beer vending machines I was stoked. I was also amazed by the bottles of screw drivers and rum & cola already mixed in bottles. And boy, those Japanese sure are cool about public urination.

You can't round a corner without passing a vending machine. I depended on these machines to feed me breakfast while I was touring, providing great coffee and pastries. Not just any kind of pastry, we're not talking about ding dongs and twinkeys, they looked as if they were just made at a bakery.

Crap, now I'm hungry. Time to get a sandwich.

Guns are illegal over there, unless you're a cop or are in a profession that requires you to have one. IMO, that's the way it should be everywhere anyway.

Prolly aint a problem when you're raised around the stuff. If kids are taught young about stuff like that (instead of totally shielded from it all like they are in the US) then they know how to be responsible with it. We're just way too prudish in the US...

That's a good question. It'd be interesting if you could buy games out of a vending machine. lol

There's a vending machine at the mall in Santa Rosa, CA that has Sony products in it. Like PS3's and PSP's and related accessories. I think there were a few games in there, but I'm not sure.

Anybody else see these vending machines elswhere in the USA?
