I've read in a few posts that some people don't like the fact that people under 20 are here. Apparently, the 90s aren't "retro" enough. Why do, or why don't you think the younger generation shouldn't be here? I'm not exactly a strong believer in age limits, so I think young people should be here. It gives teens (like me) an opportunity to see what the past decades' stuff was like. And plenty of teens saw, did, and used what adults did, via hand-me-downs, VHS, reruns, etc. Besides, the 90s were retro, dammit:D.

I feel that they should be allowed her fine. As I've said myself loads of times, "retro" is subjective. It's going to be different for each person, especially because most here are different ages. For me, anything retro is anything that makes me feel incredibly nostalgic. That could be something I encountered five years ago, two years ago, ten years ago, twenty years ago, etc.

Listening to the first Pokemon opening theme (Mezase Pokemon Masutaa by Matsumoto Rika) makes me incredibly nostalgic, and that song just recently hit 10 years this year. I first heard it about 2000.

Screw them danggome teenagers. Always partying and having underage sex and talking back to their parents and driving 100 MPH in a 25 MPH zone...DANGGOME TEENAGERS!!!!!!

      Oh wait, I'm a teenager, aren't I...
In that case, yes we should be allowed on this site. We hate the 21st century just as much as everyone else :D

Personally i'm not really sure. I think that since there is a 90s section here, it gives them the right to be here since technically it is on Retro Junk. However, some may be here just because being retro is considered cool now. I was born in the mid 80s so i call myself "80s toddler, 90s child" which i means the first 4 to 5 years of my life were in an 80s world, i have had strong influences since almost all of my things were hand me down (ie, toys, clothes, bedsheets...). Plus, my siblings always had free reign over the VCR, so watched their old movies, not mine. So i'm guessing there are teens out there who have had the same influences. Even though i grew up with toys from the 70s and watched the movies, i'm probably not going to go join a '70s site because 1. I was not involved in it what so ever and 2. I know i wouldn't be wanted or well maybe even labeled as a poser. I guess what i'm saying is, if the 90s section is still here, they have a right to be too.

As long as they follow the rules, it's 5 by 5 with me.

Besides, I think it's nice that we have younger posters who appreciate the 70s and 80s.

It's a great idea. It gives the opportunity to show some diversity and that it makes people not feel so alone in a world that is more challenging than ever. I think as many people as possible should just come out of the closet and show that they are not afraid to appreciate retro.

teens BETTER be allowed to be on this site, becouse im a teen. in my opinion, the 90s, though a bit more recent than some of the other things on here, are still retro, and nobody can make me change my mind.but im not saying that everybody is allowed on this site. i still believe that anybody who dosent even remember the year 1999 dosent belong here, (although that goes without saying)

There's nothing wrong with teens on this site, it's only when teens become the majority and the place is dominated by discussions about Naruto that it gets annoying.

                                I'm with MattNash.

I'd never did care much for the 1990s though. My teenage years were mostly horrible.

Of course teens are welcome here, retro is subjective.
Are the 90's retro? Depends on your definition of retro. Remember, 1990 was 17, nearly 18 years ago now. They're every bit as much retro for those kids as the 80's were for the rest of us in 2000.

My personal definition of retro, in reguards to this sort of thing, is whatever time period you were a child in, when you are now 20+.

Being on the cutoff myself (I'm twenty going on twenty one), I think teens should be allowed on the site as long as they have the appropriate knowledge and appreciation of the 70s, 80s, and 90s and follow the site rules. Besides, what they are living through now pop culturally will one day become retro (shudder....I know). Even though I was born in the later 80s (late 1986), I still got to live for a few years in the 80s and so I appreciate children's cartoons, the music, and the movies from that era.

I also think that the 90s are retro. I remember most of the 90s until about 1998 with great fondness - the cartoons were better, the TV shows were great, and so were the movies. It was a time of peace, and the world was a bit better off than we are now. I spent my elementary and most of my junior high school years in the 90s, so I think it's right that I'm nostalgic about the 90s.

So, yes, I think teens today need a refuge from the ever burdening and terror filled world of today. And this place, which has wonderful people (besides the spammers, of course), is a great place for them to talk about their nostalgic moments from the past.

My wife teaches high school kids. Most of the kids she teaches (or taught) doesn't appreciate anything made before 1990. All they say is "That is sooooo old" "It's lame and stupid" and such stuff like that. I went inside one of my wife's classes and she was telling the kids what cartoons she grew up with and they called the 80s cartoons lame and said that the 1990s were better. I was just rolling my eyes. This year, as a elective, the principal a "Retro Education" class which will cover everything from the 1940s-1980s. Let's see what they think now.

It is nice to see kids that do appreciate the 1970s and 1980s. I know that my own will.
