I admire Tesla for being a very important and influential scientist, especially for his work in electricity.
I could do without the 80's band of the same (last) name.
I would argue that the Tesla coil was the "most important" thing he did during his career, though it is currently (pun intended) what he is best known for.

The most important thing Tesla ever did was develop alternating current. I consider Tesla the father of modern electricity and not Edison.

I like Tesla, he's an awesome genius. I've read about his inventions and discoveries, but there was one about him developing some kind of Death Beam or something along those lines, but I don't know how much truth there is in that. He may have theorized about one, but I don't remember anything else. He's an interesting guy to read about.

Tesla and Edison were at odds with each other for years. Edison wanted DC electricity to be pumped into households. Tesla knew that the public needed the safer AC electricity. Tesla was one of the most important men of the 20th century. Its a shame he died in poverty and insane.

Damn right he was! I'm waiting for a Nikola Tesla biopic. I mean a big budget one that will bring his name back to people.
