The vid didn't work, but it's my guess that it was either some really young or embarrasingly old nerd who considers shit like Naruto and Dragonball Z and only the popular shitty animes in their argument and tries to defend equally as crappy shows like Total Drama Island and Fairly OddParents.

I was probably going to smash my computer into a million pieces over this vid, so I'm glad it doesn't work :D

Personally, I agree. I find that some Anime is actually good.

The video is called “Why Anime Sucks (Why American is better)” by a YouTuber named TheJosephShow. He says the main reason he hates anime is because Anime fans act like anime is a God and the superior artform. Also just for the heads up, no he doesn't mention hardly any of the Shonen stuff. He does say he likes Cowboy Bebop and Lupin and others... I really suggest you watch it on YouTube. I swear he's not a typical anime hater. The main reason he made the video was because he's tired of Anime fans hating on American cartoons.

Some is, but the vast majority of it that i have seen is garbage. The same thing goes for most animation though, so it's ok.

probably mad because if he was at a anime convention no one would talk to him (and I been to them and know people that go to them, they like more than just anime)

One of the more interesting qualities of animation is the use of "implied motion". Back in the 1920's animators discovered that audiences respond to "limited" animation. And limited animation works best with a strong storyline.

Isn't that the key to anime?

That's where the "action lines" come from. I think it's also why all anime characters seem to sort of quiver when they aren't speaking.

I was unable to look at the video but all I can say is that there are plenty of good Anime's. I don't watch that much Anime though and the last Anime I've seen so far was Akira. I enjoyed the Anime Hellsing. But I still love American animation.

I don't prefer one over the other if we're going solely by animation. To me, they're all cartoons.

Now, when it comes to story-telling or story lines, that's about the only way I'd take anime over most American-made stuff. They tend to have stories that are ongoing and actually have proper endings. Even as a kid, before I knew what the heck "anime" was, even though I was watching it and just didn't know it, this always bugged me. I like closure to a series.

Seems like in Japan, even the ratings aren't the best in the world, they would still play the series and it actually has an "ending episode". Can't say that for most of the stuff over here. It just ends.
