I have high expectations @_@
It looks strange. He doesn't look as cute as he use to.
I remember watching the original b/w show way back when I was a kid. So I'll give the movie a chance.
I thought Astro Boy was adopted by an older scientist once his dad flipped out. This version looks like his dad is still good.

The original manga was written back in the 1950's when everyone thought the 21st century would have flying cars and robots. I believe the original manga takes place in 2003.

The commercial is all it took for me to say "no" to this movie.It seems different from the original, like some of the ways mentioned above from another poster. It truley is a shame that the film will probally not do so good.

I guess they don't want to freak the kids out, because the 60's version was a little harsh even by today's standards.
I'm slightly MEH about the movie. I wish they had put Astro's robot family in there, but once again they're playing to the causal audience. :roll:

i just hope its better then underdog was. granted i only saw the last 5 mins of that movie but was glad i missed the rest of it.
I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD. I liked the manga, but was disappointed with the 2003 anime. It was heavily edited and the english dubbing was horrible.

It could've been better. The animation looks kind of direct to video quality. The animation in the 2003 Astro Boy tv series looked more threatrical than this! Pass.
