Sports channel ESPN has broadcast racquetball events since 1980. Given the sport's obscurity ESPN has been credited with introducing it to mainstream audiences. ESPN has broadcast the US Open every year since its inception in 1996 and also airs the Pan American Games, World Games and Central American and Caribbean Games as well as the Asian Championships, European Championships and Pan American Championships.
