Santa's Apprentice
Release: November 24, 2010

Nicholas is a 7-year-old Australian orphan who loves Christmas. The happiest day of the year for Nicholas and his friends at the orphanage is also tainted with sadness. Their greatest Christmas wish is one that may never be granted: to find a new family that they can call their own. Meanwhile, in the North Pole workshop, Santa Claus is starting to panic about the ‘Santa Claus Rule’, which states that every 178 years, Santa must choose a new apprentice. If Santa doesn’t choose his apprentice by Christmas Eve, then it will be too late and Christmas may be lost forever. As much as he respects the Santa code, he can’t imagine his life without delivering presents and bringing happiness to children on Christmas day. As hard as it may be, he has no choice but to find an apprentice. There are 3 qualifications of any apprentice Santa. The apprentice must be an orphan, he must be pure of heart and his name must be Nicholas. And there’s only one child in the world who fits the bill….. and he lives in an orphanage in Sydney. We follow Nicholas on his adventure as he struggles with the ups and downs of being the next Santa Claus. It’s a big responsibility that would scare even the bravest boy. Nicholas wants to be the best Santa ever and will learn a few lessons along the way. But Christmas has a way of making even the biggest mishaps alright and thanks to his loving mentors, Santa and Waldorf, Nicholas learns, as we all do, the true meaning of Christmas! This movie is more or less of a Prequel/Remake based from the animated TV series "SantApprentice" This movie has been released in Australia, Europe and some other countries. It was released in the USA in 2015 on Netflix. But this movie was planning to release in the U.K. by The Weinstein Company. Though the date has not been set as of yet. In French it is titled: "L'Apprenti Père Noel"
