I know a place that has a ton of old VHS tapes for sale for cheap. Ever since this sale, I got a ton of tapes for various films. Some of these are quite old. Who else collects old tapes or has any tapes older than 1988? Even better yet, name your whole list of tapes with the year released on the tape and even the logo that shows up at the beginning of the tape. I will name off mine. Must be prerecorded

A large set of Ninja Turtles tapes from 1988-1996 (Has episodes from seasons 1-8) Uses FHE drawing pad and paintbrush logos depending on time period
Gremlins from 1985 uses the W in the semi-circle logo, but has the shield on the box and tape
Innerspace (Loose) from 1988 has the Cheesy Shield logo with Warner Communications byline
Robocop 2 from 1992 (Has preview of Robocop 3 oddly enough), but has a 1990 copyright date with Orion Home Video logo
Gattaca from 1998 uses a Columbia Tristar logo, but not the common one on those releases from that time
Ghoulies II (PG-13 version) from 1988 uses the Vestron circle logo
Ghoulies IV from 1994 uses the Columbia Tristar logo that wouldn't die
Fletch from 1985 uses the MCA Home Video logo with the starfield
The Karate Kid from 1985 uses no logo
The Karate Kid Part II from 1986 uses no logo
Critters 2 from 1988 uses the RCA Columbia logo with the spinning cube
F/X 2 from 1991 uses the Orion Home Video logo
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure from 1989 uses a Nelson Video logo
Kazaam from 1996 uses the Touchstone logo used for many years
Twilight Zone: The Movie from 1999 (Movie came out in 1983) uses the current Warner Home Video logo, but uses the now rare W in the circle logo at the start of the movie

What ones do you have? You can even take a picture of you collection if you like (Only your legit movies (No porn) and even any television tapes you may have) or use a text description like I did.

        Just got:

Back to School from 1987 with HBO Cannon Video.

The Road Warrior (Yeah!) from some point in the late '80's (Loose tape and film came out in 1982 for the U.S.) with the cheesy shield logo (Warner Communications) and the W in the circle at the start of the movie.

                Just got the following:

Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie from 1996 with MCA/Universal logo.

The Delta Force (Corny Chuck Norris film) from 1986 with Media Home Entertainment with space background and a Heron Communications byline.

The Deep from 1978 (You looked right) with Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment logo video freeze and a scene poorly skipped (The tape cuts off and goes to the next scene). A similar, but more professional thing happened with Superman: The Movie (The WCI version) with scenes skipped and the credits removed.

I will say that the VHS covers are FAR superior to DVD ones of today. 8)

My local video store is right now selling almost all their VHS tapes for $2 each. I've bought a bunch, and a lot of them are very old. I bought the 1984 copy of This is Spinal Tap there, Other old VHS tapes I've got are The Omen re-released in 1984, The Hitcher (orginal from 1986), Ghoulies (original from 1985-- it's so old the tape looks strange), and Parents, a horror movie from about 1987. Anything released from CBS Video is old.

I found the best place by me. It has so many flipping vhs tapes (I love my vhs player, I cant let it go yet). They are previously viewed, but the best part is, they are only 99 cents. And its all good stuff too, not just b rated junk.

My dad did this with the North and South (Parts I and II) tapes. I want to do that as well. Some tapes may be coded though. Critters 2 I believe is one example. If anybody has a complete copy of Ghoulies (Original 1985 tape), let me know.

I've got a load of old tapes, too. One from 1982.

Little Nezha Fights Great Dragon Kings - BBC Video - 1982
A tape with the old WHV logo from 1980-1985
                                Star Wars - Original Releases, No CGI - FOX Video, CBS-FOX - 1994, 1988

                                More soon.

I just got one from '97... But I don't know what you consider old...

Yeah, my dad owned a video store 20 years ago, we have about 300 tapes he brought home.

                                        Really? Three-hundred tapes?
So far I have three CBS-Fox Releases, easy to come by in the UK, sometimes not.
