New York Undercover

Show Summary

Aired: 1994 - 1998
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

This one-hour action drama comes from Universal Studios and Dick Wolf, the studio and creater/executive producer of the highly successful "Law & Order" franchise. The show follows J.C. Williams (Malik Yoba) & Eddie Torres (Michael DeLorenzo), two detectives who work in the NYPD's Undercover Unit under the watchful eye of an no-nonsense lieutenant (Patti D'Arbanville-Quinn). The show was an "Miami Vice" for the '90s, using gritty intensity with a sense of cool that made "Vice" an TV staple years later. Notable guest stars included: Ice-T (who appeared on the show 4 times for seasons one and two as Williams' bloodthirsty nemesis, Danny Cort), Edie Falco, Naomi Campbell, & Paula Garces (Clockstoppers, Dangerous Minds). Lauren Velez joined the cast in Season 2 as Moreno, an undercover detective who becomes the object of Torres' affection. Tommy Ford of "Martin" fame joined the final year as the new lieutenant.

This was one of the best television shows of the 90s. I loved the original cast. and I really lost interest in the show after killing off the 2 main characters and after the police chief left. :(

I used to have a major crush on Michael Delorenzo.

I remember in the very first episode, JC and Eddie were at odds with each other but became the best of friends.

I nearly cried when Eddie died though. :o(

Oooo, I was stupified by this show! lol. I was in LOVE with Malik and Michael. and I agree, the show went to hell after the woman(I forget her name) police chief left(and they replaced her with the guy who played Tommy on "Martin") and those other characters came on the scene. It just wasn't the same.
