School House Rock

Show Summary

Aired: 1973 - 1996
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: US

In my opinion, this is one of the cartoons that was great at teaching kids how to learn. Even though each episode was five minutes, it was a good educational show for people to watch.
Schoolhouse Rock is a series of animated shorts that teach kids the basic fundamentals of grammar, mathematics and science.

Originally airing on ABC from 1973 to 1986, ABC began its revival of the "Schoolhouse Rock" three-minute segments in September of 1992. Since that time, ABC has commissioned a couple of new Grammar Rock segments and eight new Money Rock segments. ABC ceased airing them around 1999 or so. These were aired on Saturday Morning between the cartoons.

Introduction theme song lyrics:

As your body grows bigger
Your mind grows flowered
It's great to learn
Cause knowledge is power!

It's Schoolhouse Rocky
That chip off the block
Of your favourite schoolhouse
Schoolhouse Rock!

I'm old enough to know that the rare ending to Multiplication rock was the original ending back in the day. Also, the beginning of Figure Eight was the original beginning of Schoolhouse Rock back in 1973 or 1974.Schoolhouse Rocky didn't start Schoolhouse Rock until later episodes.Being 6 years old in 1973,and hooked up to Saturday cartoons,Trust me,I remember.

OMG this show was the bomb. You could not help but remember all the subjects that were taught on School House Rock my sister and I grew up watching this show and we were better for it. The kids now don't have a chance. The school systems want teachers to teach a state test and not prepare the kids for higher learning. The kids are lost now education wise we need to bring this show back.
