Galtar and the Golder Lance

Show Summary

Aired: 1985 - 1986
Show Type: Animated
Country of Origin: US

The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera, Galtar and the Golden Lance was an outer space sword and sorcery affair featuring a light-hearted blonde warrior named Galtar. Searching for the vile Tormack, the despot responsible for the deaths of his parents, Galtar aligned himself with beautiful princess Goleeta and her feisty younger telekinetic brother Zorn. Goleeta and Zorn also had a score to settle with Tormack, who'd stolen Goleeta's magical golden shield. Tormack in turn coveted Galtar's equally magical double-edged golden lance, for whosoever possessed both lance and shield would be all-powerful. And both hero and villain had to deal as best they could with a brace of comic relief dwarves: Rak and Tuk, bumbling father-and-son mercenaries who excused their chronic double-crossing as "the only work we know".

Glad to see you guys posted this show, after adding to the 80's cartoon list. I loved this show. This came one when I was just leaving elementary school in 86, and getting ready for highschool. I remember watching this show every Sunday morning along with Yogi's Treasure Hunt. Then came the New Johnny Quest, and then Galtar.....It was like He-Man but just as good, if not better. Loved the little dwarves. They were always coming up with some kinda scheme to get ahold of the lance. Naughty dwarves, but still had some pureness of heart. Galtar was just awesome with that lance. Goleeta was a Great Female character. Tough and had her own weapon. The whole show rocked. Wish Hanna Barbera would release this baby on DVD. For now, I guess it's bootleg for this 80s cartoon boy. :)

I remember this being a part of the Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera. I loved anything that was a fantasy show.
