The Adventures of Pete and Pete

Show Summary

Aired: 1993 - 1996
Show Type: Live Action
Country of Origin: US

The Adventures of Pete & Pete was a U.S. television series produced and broadcast by the Nickelodeon cable channel. The show, which featured humorous and surreal elements in its narrative and many recurring themes, centered on two brothers both named Pete Wrigley, along with their family, friends and enemies. It most recently aired on the cable channel Noggin, but is no longer broadcast. Reruns are now being shown on Nickelodeon in the UK. The first two seasons were released on DVD in 2005 and the third was planned for 2006 but cancelled.

The show was created by Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi and began as one-minute shorts in 1989 that were shown in between regular programs. Owing to the popularity of the shorts, five half-hour specials were made, followed by a regular half-hour series that ran for three seasons (1993-1996) and continued in reruns until around 1998.

Season 1 and 2 are available now, Season 3, the third and final season, was supposed to be released February 8th of 2006 but Paramount canceled the release completely. Episodes can be found on Google video

I think that the actors who played the characters are the following (am just not sure of the correct spelling):

Big Pete Wrigley - Michael Marona
Ellen - Alison Finelli
Ellen's Dad - Steve Buschemi

I couldn't find the names of the actors in CAST. So please auto-correct that cast. thanks.

Btw, it's really one of the best shows in Nickelodeon. Good script, well narrated (by Michael Marona). And the quotes I saw about the show on this site were so hilarious (back then I was still a kid to understand the gists of those witty quotes/jokes). It just brings out nostalgia :D

I loved this show whenever I got a chance to see it, which was only and my grandma and grandpa's house. They had cable. I would watch this show all day when I was there.

My favorite was the staring contest.

To this day it is STILL one of the smartest television shows I've ever seen. Never has a show been so perfectly executed for ALL ages, IMO.
