Ok, I am a big Trek fan. This movie was trash. Stupid effects, bad script, bad story. If this was to vanish the world would be a better place.

I've never been a hardcore Trek fan, but I 've always enjoyed the films. You really didn't have to be fan of the series to enjoy the films, though this one is perhaps the exception. It just doesn't stack up and it makes the case about the odd numbered trek films not being very good, even stronger.

This film gets a lot of heck... and I agree it deserves it, but I like the film nonetheless. I don’t know what but there is something brilliant about it (okay maybe not that brilliant but...) and I think it does have some redeemable qualities too. I really enjoy the interaction between Kirk, Spock, and Bones in this one. It does help to develop their characters. They really seem like brothers this time around. Whether that is good or bad you can decide.
