OH MY GOD!!! I've never met anyone in my adult life who even remembered this cereal, so I NEVER thought I'd ever run across someone else that owned the FRIDGE MAGNET! How cool! We had the set with the different characters they came out with towards the end of the cereal's life cycle, but the only one I can still picture in my mind was a woman blond curly hair...maybe a telephone operator... Sound familiar to anybody??
"Cecil (1975) was the machine that made the "Grins and Smiles and Giggles and Laughs Cereal". Grins was the guy in the brown suit, Smiles in the green suit, Giggles was the lady with the clipboard and Laughs was the guy in the blue suit with glasses. They all told jokes in an attempt to make Cecil laugh so he would spit out boxes of the cereal. "It takes funny people to make funny cereal."
"But if Cecil's funny bone hasn't been tickled, then you're reading the back of an empty box..." These characters were designed by Stan Mack. Dean Yeagle did the animation."
