WCBS-TV - Emergency Broadcast System Test

I kinda wish some of the EBS sound had been left in...you know, for posterity or something.

"This is only a test, doooooo..............." The EBS is classic.

Download a tone generator program, select a sine wave. On one channel, make the tone 853 Hz. On another channel, make the tone 960 Hz. That will generate the correct tone. For some reason, it looks like this test NEVER had the tone, and it was logged as a silent test, which did happen from time to time as per an FCC request.

That wasn't even 60 seconds. It was only 38.

Those EBS tests always scared the living daylights out of me, I'd run out of the room in terror and hide in the bathroom until the test was finished (the EAS weekly tests nowadays don't really scare me)
