An elderly widow(played by Ms.Jessica Tandy)is forced to move in with her daughter and her son in law in New Jersey. Bored by inactivity and finding the activities at the senior citizens center unacceptable. The widow soon discovers the wonders of Public access cable tv. Creating and producing her own children's storytelling tv series. She becomes a popular entertainer on local cable tv. Until her show is picked by a sleezy ad exec(played by Mr. Ed Begley,Jr.)and his naivie assitant(played by Ms.Stephanie Zemblist)..who wants to use her show and her character to promote junk toys for his crooked clients. This film was first broadcast on the NBC TV Network in December of 1990. NBC TV's"Story Lady"should not be confused with ABC Radio & TV's children's program of the 1940's and 50's.
