OMG I had a sky dancer I got it fro christmas and I like played with it all the time in my yard
JackTilly Posted 7 years 11 months ago
I had the blue one with the dolphin. Me and a bunch of friends were over at someone's house playing with them, and one of the sky dancers flew up and smashed the overhead light.
Zyoura Posted 8 years 7 months ago
I totally remember these. I don't think I had one though. If I did, it's probably gone somewhere.
kuriamorgan Posted 9 years 4 months ago
there was one point in time when one of the bases went flying at my sisters head and I never saw the sky dancers again
DeadlyPullip Posted 9 years 5 months ago
Ah, one of my favorite toys as a kid. Me and my sister were playing with her in our play room..she flew across the room and was never seen again..
    pinkberry141 Posted 9 years 7 months ago
I had ALL of these. I wish I would have kept all of my old toys!

kellyilla Posted 10 years 2 months ago
I had the black one, too. I had all of them actually. They are beautiful. My mom loved them so much that she bought them all for me and my twin sister for our 10th birthday.
    mimitchi33 Posted 10 years 4 months ago

afternoon Posted 10 years 11 months ago
I had the one with the green flowery handle
    chaunny44 Posted 11 years 28 days ago
LoL. I remember these! I remember my cousin had one and we would fly them down the stairs..except it was kinda funny cause sometimes they just wouldn't work (flying) so they would rather crash and fall down the stairs haha. Brings back good memories!
musicchic Posted 11 years 1 month ago
I had one of those I also had a coloring book of it that I got when I was sick and it came with a Sky Dancers lead pencil. So many memories....
kayputh Posted 11 years 1 month ago
My mom got this for my birthday and I was soooo happy.

    I still think it's a cool toy
    Exstacy87 Posted 11 years 1 month ago
them things are dangerous haha but fun
atomicbread Posted 11 years 1 month ago
i rather enjoyed the manual version of this. the one you spin using your palms, like if you were starting a fire with a stick. way more self-gratifying

    Toria66 Posted 11 years 2 months ago

    xo_laiNybaBi_ox Posted 11 years 2 months ago
ohhh man, i had like 3 of these. i got sick of them quick though lol
BeautyoftheBeast Posted 11 years 3 months ago
I though they were cool, until one of them sonofabitchin things hit me in the eye
Astera Posted 11 years 8 months ago
Those things were awesome. I never had one though...
    Mistress9 Posted 11 years 8 months ago
Boys thought Sky Dancers were awesome, but could never admit it. Hence the creation of Dragon Flyz.
BluePhoenix Posted 11 years 9 months ago
These were lethal weapons. If they whacked you in the face they could break your nose. If you flew them indoors they were guaranteed to smash something. I loved them though and had a a ton of them. I still have two MIB.
    nikki89 Posted 11 years 10 months ago
I STILL have mine, it's the one with the moon-shaped launcher.
    sizz_leteen Posted 11 years 11 months ago
Psht, they haven't improved. They're ugly as sin, now. They were so pretty back in the '90s'. I had two of them.
    Crazy4Nostalgia Posted 11 years 11 months ago
All those problems were the reason they were recalled. They're back, though, so maybe they've improved.
Xehanort Posted 12 years 14 days ago
"They're beautiful..." Gee, really? People with purple hair that sticks up a half a mile are beautiful? I thought this was in the 90s, not the 80s... o_O

But, anywho... I used to LOVE Sky Dancers. In fact, I'm almost inclined to buy one since they re-released them... I saw some in Wal-mart not too long ago.
Harpsiccord Posted 12 years 1 month ago
Glorified puddle jumpers is all that is. The they made a cartoon about 'em.
    kimsy520 Posted 12 years 2 months ago
I never had the toy, but I do remember the cartoon. I also remember a fast food chain offering Sky Dancer toys with the kids meals and I was slightly perturbed that mine didn't fly.
    mr3urious Posted 12 years 2 months ago
I had one of these, and a Dragonflyz toy, when I was young! I also tried catching it by the base, like dalmatianlover did! Also, the Sky Dancers toys look like exotic dancers nowadays.
Everglot Posted 12 years 2 months ago
I still have mine and it still works.
dalmatianlover Posted 12 years 3 months ago
    Do they ever come down?
Playmate Posted 12 years 3 months ago
OMG i still have mines. I got the blue dolphin one. I practiced so hard to always catch it by the base... I wonder where i put it.
Enchurito Posted 12 years 4 months ago
Ah loved the idea of these but as the recalls website says:

Galoob® has received 170 reports of the dolls striking children and adults resulting in 150 reports of injuries. They include eye injuries, including scratched corneas and incidents of temporary blindness, broken teeth, a mild concussion, a broken rib, and facial lacerations that required stitches.
Mandy Posted 12 years 4 months ago
I had a bunch of these too! I remember I set one off in my moms car and the bottom of it hurt my brother...they were a little dangerous..
    auburntiger04 Posted 12 years 5 months ago
I had one of these! I loved it!
Sunriser Posted 12 years 5 months ago
Meh, they weren't dangerous. The wings were made of foam. I had the dolphin launcher. I practiced catching it at the base so it would spin in my hand.
    grade4 Posted 12 years 5 months ago
I just realized ~ I think the announcer for this commercial is the voice of Playhouse Disney...
    grade4 Posted 12 years 5 months ago
I had these in Pre-K... so many kids got hurt... They're "hip" again, they're still kinda dangerous.
Noname the Weird Posted 12 years 6 months ago
Isn't there more to dancing than just sort of... twirling around in the air for a few seconds? And smelling fruity?
