McDonalds was founded in the 50s and aired their first commercial in the 60s

Notice how they use real lettuce here? Not like today where they use that pre-shredded crap that tastes funny, kinda like perfume or something.

Of course they had fast food back then, poprocks, McDonalds was founded in 1955 (or at least franchised by that time). They've been around for quite some time.

Big Mac. An American institution. Right up there with Mac-n-Cheese!!! Coincidence??? I think not.

Don't remember this exact commercial, but I remember ones like it. More memorable that the "Da Da Da Da Da I'm Lovin It" crud they use these days.
KRW Posted 7 years 10 months ago
Incase you're wondering, the jingle I was talking about was "Two All Beef Patties, Special Sauce, Lettuce, Cheese Pickles, Onions on a Sesame Seed Bun", the same jingle that's in this ad.
KRW Posted 7 years 10 months ago
About three years ago, McD's released a pull-string Big Mac Xmas ornament that played this jingle if you pulled the string. It also had the same jingle printed on the ornament.

The patty that the fry-cook puts on the Big-Mac appears to be uncooked.

I learned the jingle from a McDonald's commercial from the early half of the 90's, perhaps around the time of their 'Have you Had Your Break Today?" campaign...I am a manager at Mcdonald's, and most ppl I work with don't even know the jingle exists...

    kimsy520 Posted 8 years 6 months ago
^ Yes, they did look bigger, not to mention neater. Now they're a mess to handle and there's more special sauce than hamburger.

Big Macs looked so...big back then.
Nipratts Posted 8 years 7 months ago

It might be a mixture of Thousand Island and mayonaise.
Roadgeek Posted 8 years 8 months ago
Call me weird, but I don't like the "special sauce". Next time I order my Big Mac, HOLD THE SAUCE! I'll just add some ketchup.
liss Posted 8 years 9 months ago
it is not thousand island iv made homemade mac sauce and it has miricale wip in it

I love Big Macs though they're not as good as Quarter Pounders! Oh man Quarter Pounders are so GOOOOD!
