I was born in '76 and I remember this commercial. It played for a long time.

Course I didn't have cable growing up, so maybe I was exposed to different commercials then you folks who don't remember this.

Isn't that David Naughton, who later starred in An American Werewolf in London?

I wasn't even born when this commercial came out, but I saw it on a History Channel special (I think it was "American Drinks") and I've been familiar with it ever since. I can't help but sing a part of it whenever somebody mentions Dr. Pepper.

Wow, my favorite musical commercial of all time, probably.

"UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM O.K Very Weird and at the end the guy in the blue like fell off the train and forgot wut to do and asked the guy wut to do"

I think the singer told the blue suit guy his fly was unzipped!

we sang this song over and over again. i am sure we drove my mom crazy.

Interestingly, the closest they've ever come to discussing this on any of VH1's "I Love..." programs was a brief mention in the "American Werewolf In London" segment of the 1981 episode of "I Love The 80s 3-D", and even then, the clip was a silent one. They really need to talk about this topic in full if they do any future installments of "I Love The 70s" or "I Love The 80s".

This is my sister-in-law's favorite soda. She even got a hold of a "I am Pepper" t-shirt.

In response to a question above, yes, there were a whole series of "Be a Pepper" commercials with David Naughton. And he followed it up with the disco hit (and bomb TV series) "Makin' It."

It seems odd that they revived Coke's "I'd Like to Teach the World To Sing," but this jingle's been gone since the early 80s.

I love this commercial... as a kid it had me singing all the time. Shame he isn't known for his acting career as much as for being a "Pepper" !
