Oh Yeah (again), they had two "mascotts" (like Ronald) named Burger Chef and Jeff.

I remember Burger Chef and the only thing I kept getting in my "kids meal" for a toy was a spinning top. I had a mega collection of them.

As stated previously, Burger Chef = Fast food chain until Hardees purchased the company.

Notice how Darth Vader's shadow appears before he does. Fun commercial though!

That is Vilolet from Willie Wonka, isn't it?! Thanks for the heads up on that, Lukeworm, it would've driven me crazy! I don't remember this promotion (nor do I remember Burger Chef), but it's interesting that the Star Wars characters were pimping fast food right from the getgo.

I think a burger costs something like 45 cents as well. Gotta love inflation.

large soda for 49 cents in the 70s??? How dare these fast food cretins jack it up to nearly $3 today!!!

Actually, the first Burger King restaurant opened in 1954, and so did Burger Chef.
    Phantasmagoria_3D Posted 12 years 6 months ago
This must be what they used to call, "Burger King" I bet! They just changed the name, that's all! Remember, McDonald's IS a lot older, considering the fact that it was discovered in the 50s. Telling from this commercial, Burger King (AKA Burger Chef) must've been discovered in the 70s!
