I distinctly remember being frightened of that kid with the green eyes and way wrong teeth as a child. When the commercial would come on, i would close my eyes so i couldn't see seriously fucked up boy. Those theeth, btw, look prostetic, and bad prostetics at that, but then again they really add the the creepiness factor of the child. I loved Transformers, butalways hated this commercial.

It's like i said in another post i did on a talking doll, the 70's and 80's seemed to be a time where companies intentially made commercials aimed at kids very dark and foreboding, and traumatizing at times, almost like they were wanting to scare the children into boying the products. And i wouldn't put it passed Madison Ave.there was a definite traumatizing pattern to alot of 80's commercials. They seem to induce anxiety in kids, almost a shell shock, that makes the kids, inexplicably, want the toys. These tactics have spilled over into the 90's and 2000's, but their heyday was the 80's, and 70's

I had all those before, Transformers were unstoppable at one moment in time.

Yea that kid would always make me laugh, because my brother would always try to pin me down and do the same impression, but I couldnt help but laugh.

    classic stuff'

That kid with the glowing green eyes was awful scary and my mom thought he was demon-possessed. Everytime it came on, she would cover my eyes and say "Uy! Don't watch that! That's ugly!"

Me? I thought it was so cool, though a bit scary.

As I got older, I realized that he was supposed to be a robot masquerading as a human.

Who was that kid anyway? What did his family think?

I certainly remember this commercial and all Transformers commercials. It's not like it was a new thing.

I'm guessing that kid decided to star in this commercial to make money so that he could pay his dental bills...
