A&W (1980)

Our A&W moved from the mall to it's own little building outside. Recently it was broken into and money was stolen from the safe.

A&W is one of my favorite restaurants. Too bad we don't have one near where I live..

This is the best fast food joint ever!! There is an A&W near my place that has a Long John Silver's with it and there is also one with a KFC on it too. Good Stuff!

I remember eating at one of the restaurants as a kid. The last one I remember was at the Food Court at the Northridge Mall in California. It was closed down a few years ago. They had great food there. I love the root beer.

Now Burger King, on the other hand, I know several locations went under in Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver area since the 90's.

After looking at the comments and then going to the A&W sites for the USA and Canada, it is apparent that we have WAY more locations in Canada. Must be a more thriving company up north. Their burgers are good but the onion rings are the best. I don't go there too much, these days, though, because I mostly go to Quizno's.

The 'weird fried thing' isn't some Canadian thing - might be either another patty or a tomato - quality of this advert makes it hard to see exactly what it is.

I heard about this but I never thought it was real restaurant. I always thought that A&W were only known for their root beer and nothing else.

The food looks appetizing, but I don't think watching a guy in a bear costume playing a tuba would encourage me to go there.

I went to an A&W restaurant when I was real little. What ever has happened to those joints? The root beer is still good, even though I'm not much of a soda drinker anymore.
