Ballad of Gordon (1990)

I didn't know that this was a BNL song until I noticed that they were the same group who performed the "Shoe Box" song on my "Freiends" soundtrack.

This song needs to be on iTunes. It's AWESOME!

I rather like this one. I played it for a sociology class, and my teacher was seriously like, "What in the f**k?" Teachers don't normally curse, but it was worth it.

No it's about racial tolerance and being thankful for being the way that you are.

I never knew Bare Naked Ladies performed this. I remember being annoyed by this ad way back when, but it's not quite as bad as I remember.

I'll keep this in mind the next time an extra-terrestrial visitor stops by my house for a pizza.

They sound a lot like They Might Be Giants...also, I'm pretty sure they are saying "and then there was weed". So, maybe it's really a drug PSA?

The heavens parted and in a beam of pure white light, the angels sang the hallelujah chorus... I have been looking for this clip since I got a computer (years & years). It's as good as I remember! I've been wanting to show my daughter (bnl fan, but too young to remember the spots) I also remember a another one about equality of the sexes, but I don't know who sings that one.

Yeah i totally remember seeing this on FOX Kids, I don't think it ever aired on any other channels.

I remember seeing this commercial on Fox Kids Saturday Morning back in 1993 or so. It's one of those ones I remember, even now. And the Barenaked Ladies had become big in Canada in those days, so I remember, back then, being surprised to see them on an American network.

OMG!!!!do you KNOW how freaking long i have been looking for this!!!! i had seen it a few times on FOX YEARS ago, and i instantly loved the song. and i never saw it again up until right now. MAN!! i feel complete, i think i can die in peace now. i love this site and the work thats done hear. the recorces are unbelievable.keep it up, ...hahaha i feel retroboy29, i to sang this song in my head years after it had aired. especialy the part were he starts nameing the colors. That was weird. I think I remember this a little. That guy's head did look a little bit like a fruit though.

I thought this PSA was about becoming a spaceman or astronaut. I sure as hell didn't remember the very end at all nor the overall message. Catchy tune, though; didn't know that the Barenaked Ladies sang this.

Just a year ago I began to remember this PSA... but just the end. I never dreamed I'd se it again ^_^ Ah memories... I feel like crying... ^_^
