Spongebob Square Pants airs every afternoon at 5:30 on YTV and boy do I ever hate this. I don't think I have ever hated a show more than I hate Spongebob. I have little cousins who like Spongebob, another cousin who has a girl who likes Spongebob and a friend's daughter who likes Spongebob. I just don't understand the appeal of Spongebob SquarePants.

Ever since YTV started airing Spongebob SquarePants I have been avoiding that channel on weekdays. But there's no denying Spongebob's appeal. I either just don't get it or I wasn't meant to get it. But ladies and gentlemen why let your kids watch this garbage?

Spongebob really isn't anything except inmature toilet humour but I've always said: "you'll never go broke appealing to the lowest common denominator." I think that with Spongebob Squarepants this saying is true.

I just don't understand why people are so attracted to this 30 minute long toilet joke but all of the reasons why I hate it are there. I hate Spongebob. Even saying his name makes me cringe. I think the only reason why I, or anyone else for that matter, hate this show is because it's nothing more than toilet humor that's aimed at kids. Like I said ladies and gentlemen why let your kids watch this trashy B.S.? Good grief people get your kids outside and let them take on a hobby such as flying kites, and get them outside for some much needed fresh air insteadl of letting your kids sit around the idiot box all day.
STOP USING YOUR TV AS AN OVERGLORIFIED BABYSITTER AND SPEND TIME WITH YOUR CHILDREN!!
God knows your children have only one chance to kive their lives and instead they're watching a covy of sea mammals degrade one another. What the hell are you teaching your children with this brainless drivel? That it's okay to degrade one another?
Keep your kids off of Sponge Bob people. It's the only way to go when you're raising kids and save it for when they're older.

I'll admit....I hate Spongebob's character but it has it's appeal to the children, so I tolerate it. By no means is it toilet humor though.

Seriously, this is one of the stupidest articles I've ever read on this site, and I normally keep opinions like that to myself.

You don't know ANYTHING about Spongebob. The name of the resturant is not The Krabby Shack and the squid's name is not Mr. Squidworth. Also, this show has practically no fart jokes what-so-ever. Sure there might have been some fart jokes at some points in this show, but I rarely see any when I watched Spongebob. Shows like Ren and Stimpy, Rocko's Modern Life, My Gym Partner's a Monkey, and Cow and Chicken have far more fart jokes than Spongebob ever did. Seriously, go watch these shows that I just mentioned and then come back and tell us what you think of Spongebob.

Anyway, I adore the old episodes from '99 to about '04, but I'm not afraid to say that yes, he is going downhill. This article, however, is as poorly written as what you're ranting about. It's the Krusty Krab, not the Krabby Shack. The names are Mr. Krabs and Squidward. I know that you hate this show, but at least do a little research on an article that hundreds of people are going to read. There's also not much body to this article. It's four paragraphs with pictures (I didn't count the third thing as a paragraph; it's two sentences). I give your article a big thumbs down.

Spongebob is one of the most hilarious cartoons I have seen in ages. I really don't understand the hate. It's not a bunch of toilet humor at all...and I don't even know where that comes from.

I've seen many Spongebob bashings, but this just takes the cake! I can see why he got the names wrong if he never really watched the show, but I bet he probably saw one or so episodes with some toilet humor and just assumed that's all it was. I like this show and I think it was one of Nick's very last good Nicktoons but maybe it's cause I like watching these cartoony characters getting into their stupid hyjinxs.

Seriously, Spongebob is the only cartoon on nowadays that has any wit whatsoever. Rugrats relied on potty humor almost entirely. SB is one of the few cartoons that doesn't. At least on Nick.

Sorry buddy, this is article is VERY poorly written. I love Spongebob, and I was eager to hear the reasons why someone would hate spongebob, and I was sorely disappointed. None of your reasons made sense at all, and the way your article is written, it doesn't seem to me like you've watched the show very much at all.

This show isn't that bad (it's not that good, either, though). Seriously, there is worse stuff on TV right now, in my opinion.

Nickelodeon's decline started with this show, in my opinion. I have allways hated the vile little sponge and to me, his name, and thereby the name of this show is the name that I shall not speak, not Voldemort. And I only read the first three Harry Potter books, because it got old to me after the second.
