Johnson and his friends, which include McDuff, a concertina, Diesel, a truck, Alfred, a hot water bottle, and Squeaky, a robot, are toys that belong to a boy named Michael, unseen except for asleep in his bed. They reside in his bedroom, and but do not move or show any signs of life until he has left the room or fallen asleep. Each episode involves a story about the toys, and it will usually have a little message to convey to the children, about sharing, cheating, complaining, or similar.

Alfred: "Now, Diesel. In this packet is a piece of my moldy baked bean sandwich, in case you get hungry while you're looking for a new bedroom."

Diesel: "And I hope he doesn't. I hope he leaves it outside in the rain, and it fills up with rust!"

This show gave my inner child the same kind of warm and fuzzy feeling as Welcome to Pooh Corner... nice to see a little bit of aussie content on here... even if it is mislabled as British... this show had a nice premise... I liked Alfred.

Hah-hah. This show entertained me so much as a kid. I loved Alfred the hot water bottle. He always got so pessimistic.

Strange to think they were life-sized costumes.
