NY1 (also officially known as Spectrum News NY1) is a 24-hour local news channel provides news coverage, focus on news, weather, traffic and sports in the five boroughs of New York City. NY1 was originally launched on September 8, 1992. In 2008, NY1 was broadcast in high-definition for the first time. On December 16, 2013, NY1 was rebranded as 'Time Warner Cable News NY1' with new graphics and music package. On November 15, 2016, the channel was rebranded again, this time as 'Spectrum News NY1'.
