Kid Curry and Hannibal Heyes were train robbers in the Old West, but they never killed anyone. Because of this, the president and governor pardoned them for their crimes, but it was kept secret. They assumed new identities (hence the name ALIAS SMITH AND JONES), and went from town to town getting in and out of trouble and trying to help the townspeople....the whole while with a bounty on their heads. Pete Duel, who played Heyes, committed suicide after the first season and was replaced. Ben Murphy - Thaddeus Jones/Jed "Kid" Curry, Roger Davis - Narrator/Hannibal Heyes (ep 33---), Pete Duel - Hannibal Heyes/Joshua Smith

This was a GREAT show in it's first season, but went downhill after Pete Duel committed suicide.
