I just found out that the NES Zapper won't work with flat-panel TVs. I haven't used the gun in years and today I got a shooting game for the NES. I tried using the gun on my LCD TV and it didn't work. I've had my TV for about a year and I just noticed this. That's too bad, but I do have an old CRT TV somewhere in storage.

Yeah, I've heard of this too, I've had a flat screen TV for several years now, and never used the NES Zapper on it. I'm not a big Duck Hunt player. It really is too bad though.

Yep, A lot of the light based guns won't work on flatscreens. I believe this is the case with the Super Scope was well.

Though I use an older TV for my games, so I don't have to worry.

Thanks for the heads up. Me and my bro were gonna hook our old nintendo up to the flatscreen.

That doesn't mean you can't still hook it up. You just won't be able to play the shooting games.

With the newer and much slimmer ones (like the one as thick as a piece of toast) it would get harder to set them up anyway, but someone's probably making a newer one that will work like how they did the new NES.

I have yet to try, mostly because I would have to get an adapter (to plug in the AC adapter.)
I still remember how it was almost a year before I played Duck Hunt due to my TV (That my mum gave me) was B&W and Duck Hunt didn't work on that either.

                Thanks for the heads up.

no light gun sort of apparatus will work on a flat tv, it needs the curved screen of a color CRT to bounce the light off of. Flat screen tvs just absorb the light

Super Scope uses a separate receiver device, but you would have to have it on top of the TV.
